One of the boys getting ready mentally and physically for the big game
Boys
from the ACF Youth Sport Development Program
(YSDP) and members of the
Phuket Loma Rugby club,
competed in the first Phuket Lomas
International
Youth Rugby Tournament the past weekend. The boys
represented the Lomas in the under 13 and under 15 age
groups. The
tournament featured touring teams from
Singapore, (Centaurs and
Ta'Moko Lions) as well as
teams from across Thailand (Kings College
BKK,
Krabi and Surathani)

A Loma player on the charge
As
with any rugby tournament the competition was
fierce and teams left
their all on the field. The Loma
players gained valued tournament
experience as well as
improved their playing skills against unknown
opposition.
It was off the pitch though that the true value of the
tournament came to pass for the boys from the YSDP.
Speaking to Ken
Sriwichai, YSDP Manager and one of
the Loma Coaches, the boys had a
chance to interact
with children from a different cultural
background and
was very pleased at how the boys embraced the chance
to broaden their horizons, to make new friends and even
practice
their English skills.
