September 2011: Golf Day in Support of ACF
Johannesburg, South Africa: ACF
volunteers Deon and Pauline Nell made a great contribution to ACF by
hosting a golf day in Pretoria, SA on the 15th of September.
Funds raised by the event was donated to ACF for the ACF Youth Program
which includes activities such as a Lifeskill, Youth Rugby Development
and a Water Safety program. Deon
and Pauline visits Phuket regularly and also helped with English
classes for the Phuket Loma boys who recently participated in the
Touraid Youth Rugby Festival in Manchester, UK.
| June 2011: Lomas tour to Manchester
 Manchester, United Kingdom: During
June ten Phuket Loma club members were invited to attend the Touraid
Youth Rugby Festival in Manchester. It was a great experience for the
boys as none of them have been overseas before. They also made friends
for life while hosted with families from the various hosting schools. Wright
Robinson Sport School hosted the Loma boys and they were blown away by
the friendly reception as well as by the school's excellent facilities. |
May 2011: Phuket International Rugby Ten's
 Karon, Phuket: The "Phuket Ten's" as it is known amongst the Asian rugby community was
held once again this year during the last week-end of May. Funds raised
during the event were used towards the Asia Center Foundation's Scholarship Fund
which provides assistance to needy students.
| February 2011: Bike Fund raising trip - Bangkok to Phuket
 Bangkok, Thailand: For the second year round, brave members of the Bangkok Bangers Rugby Team got on their bikes and left Bangkok in February
on a huge adventure to raise funds for ACF 's Building Fund. This
gruelling trip spans 5 days and 956km's and the 8 participants
completed their challenge with smile - despite a small
"incident". They raised B407 000 this year. A fantastic
effort by the Bangkok boys!

May 2009 and 2010: Phuket International Rugby Ten's
The Overgaard International Rugby Ten's 2009 and 2010:
This Fund raising event took place on the 28th, 29and 30st of May at Karon Stadium
in Karon. Participating teams supported the ACF Scholarship Fund by
donating funds so ACF can allocate scholarships to disadvantaged
students.
| "Spirit of Rugby" award
 During
November 2008 the International Rugby Board (IRB) awarded the "Spirit
of Rugby" award in London to Roelien Muller (Director: Asia Center
Foundation) and Patrick Cotter (Chairman and organizer of of the Phuket
International Rugby Ten's Competition and Vagabonds Rugby Club) for
their involvement in using rugby to contribute to the needs of society,
especially the help provided to tsunami victims through the ACF
Scholarship Program.
